What They Say

Break It

Build It

Every project is different but my approach to sound design and creative briefs remains:

the process:

Step 01

Break It

Break it down into its components. Find the essence behind the brief. Understand the core values. How can these be reimagined sonically?

Step 02

A monochrome illustration of a chemical beaker with liquid inside and bubbles coming out of the top.

Mess With It

Play. Experiment. Explore. Discover. Mess It Up. See where the boundaries can be pushed to, to return a unique sonic footprint.

Step 03

Re-Build It

Build it back into something that's original, technically sound, has feeling, hits the brief & resonates with the audience.

Mission: Enhance Content

Objective: Remain Unseen

When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

The Taoist concept of effortless action (known as Wu Wei, 無為), is the idea of acting in harmony with the natural flow — so seamlessly that the action becomes invisible, frictionless, and unnoticed.

This absolutely resonates with my approach to sound design and audio post-production for moving image.

As sound designers, our role is to elevate content — to be felt, not necessarily heard. We build emotional depth, amplify perspective, and shape rhythm without pulling focus from the story.

It's about knowing when to turn it up to 11.

More often than not, the true artistry lies in the subtleties — the nuances that transform a piece from good to great.

It’s in those finer details where we find the feeling. Where the sound just fits. Where everything starts to make sense — even if you don’t quite notice why.

The flip side to this, is that poor audio doesn't just get noticed – it breaks the spell.

It disrupts immersion, making audiences question why something just feels "off". The devil is in the detail, and that's something I work very hard to deliver.

Over many years, I've been trusted with projects from some of the world's biggest brands to deeply personal film projects. Regardless of the scale or scope, the emotional power of sound remains the foundation of my approach.

I’m driven by a passion for pushing creative boundaries, finding new ways to elevate productions and deepen their impact...

...whilst making some noise when required!

Please feel free to reach out, whether it's to discuss a project or just to connect – I’m always keen to meet new people and expand my creative network.
